“Having Amber as our doula was without a doubt the best decision we have ever made! Her extensive support and communication throughout pregnancy and her knowledge, comfort, quick thinking and guidance during labor and delivery were invaluable.” - Yana G.

'“Amber brought reassurance when there was fear, humor when there was frustration, education when there was confusion, and compassion when there was discomfort. I cannot imagine that I would look back on the birth so positively if it weren’t for her, and I also cannot imagine giving birth again without her there!” - Tayler D.

What is a birth doula?

The birth doula is trained to provide continuous physical, emotional, and educational support to birthing people and their partners throughout their pregnancy, during labor, with the birth of their child, and in those first moments after baby is born. A doula also acts as an advocate for their client by helping them gain access to information and services available in their community, helping them explore their choices and options for care, and by making sure they feel their wishes are being heard when making decisions that will impact their birth.

Benefits of having a doula present for childbirth, according to the ACOG, include shorter labors, more positive experiences, as well as a statistically significant reduction in the rate of c-sections

How you can benefit from adding a doula to your birth team

As your doula, I will provide you with evidence-based education throughout your pregnancy and at your prenatal visits, where I hope to learn all about your ideal birth story. My goal is to form a trusting and meaningful relationship with you, so that I can make certain you and your partner feel armed with confidence, knowledge and support. From guiding you through different laboring positions, to creating a warm and loving atmosphere, there are many benefits to having a doula at your side.

Birth support in immediate postpartum moments. Help with breastfeeding and family bonding

“Amber was such a positive force during our pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. From our first Zoom call to the multiple check-ins and tips after our baby was born, we knew we had found a gem of a doula! We were preparing for a low intervention birth center birth for our second child, and Amber was extremely helpful walking through birth prep with us, sending tips for exercises to try to get baby in a good position, and helping calm my anxiety and restlessness during the final weeks. When our labor and birth took a very unexpected turn with precipitous labor and needing to call 911 for a home birth, it was Amber literally sprinting into our bedroom when baby was halfway out that helped me to feel back in control of the situation. She jumped to action, providing guidance to the EMTs and riding with me in a separate ambulance to the hospital. No matter what your birth plans include, I am very confident Amber will provide amazing care, support, knowledge, and experience!”
